For when your electronics are not making it

KCC Software pumps new life into aging and non-functioning control systems. We leverage your previous investments into your machines and processes by offering you the lowest cost methods to breathe new life into the controllers - new, modern, supported hardware with excellent and robust programming.

In most cases, the machine/structure, the wiring, the hydraulics, the mechanical portions of your systems are made to last for many more decades. The electronics, however, are not making it. You need a new or updated controller and, thus, a new control program to allow your machine/process to help you get the job done.

KCC Software is a creator of well-designed and reliable control systems. In our more than 30 years, we have developed our market niche - the restoration of aging and non-functioning systems providing what we expect to be additional decades of supported system performance. We make your previous investments go further and lower your cost of ownership.

From the 1980s - 2015, millions of control systems were developed using custom designed microprocessor systems, early versions of PLCs, and even PCs (not advised for control systems). In many cases, the OEM or systems integrator that developed these systems is no longer available. Even if they are still available, they can no longer buy replacement components and parts for these aged systems. The older PLCs require older PCs with older operating systems (Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP) and special hardware ports not found on modern PCs. They can no longer maintain or program these old systems.

What you need is a control system upgrade - not a system replacement. If done well, an upgrade can be accomplished and installed with downtime ranging from virtually none to a couple of days. This is significantly better than the time required to decommission a system, remove the system, prepare your site for a new system, assemble the new system, validate the system, and then recommission the process. What may cost our clients $5000 - $25,000 for a control system upgrade saves them from $75,000 - $600,000 to replace the system plus the added cost of lost productivity. These numbers tell the story of why this is our niche.
